CURRENT LANDSCAPE

A Shift Toward The Home

We are on the steepest slope of an unprecedented demographic shift in the U.S.

  • By 2034, there will be 77 million adults aged 65+
  • 88% of this growing population wants to age at home or with loved ones
  • The demand for in-home care and support services is expected to reach new heights over the next 10 years

As a result, several of the largest carriers of aging-in-place services – including  Long-term Care Insurance (LTCI), Medicare Advantage (MA), and Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) – are shifting benefits deployment from facility to home.

OUR WORK

Expanding Service Delivery

The Helper Bees works with payers, including Long-term Care Insurance carriers and Medicare Advantage plans, to deliver a broader range of supplemental services to members such as rides, meals, home modification, pest control, and errands. Growth in the number of MA plans offering in-home support benefits has nearly doubled from 2021 to 2022

Given this diversity of needs and increased demand, The Helper Bees is seeking information from providers to help guide future innovation within our programming to support independent aging in America. We encourage qualified providers – national brands as well as local independents – to join the network within the following categories:

  • Cleaning and Housekeeping
  • Home Maintenance (electrical, plumbing, general handyperson, etc.) and Modification
  • Legal and Financial Services
  • Mental Health Support
  • Moving, Relocation, and Downsizing
  • Pest Control
  • Transportation
  • Fall Detection and Prevention
  • Brain Health
  • Cognitive Screening
  • Remote Patient Monitoring
  • Innovative AgeTech
  • And more
