I heard this article on the radio and wanted to share my thoughts and point out the significance. Identifying the disease through biological changes to the brain, rather than symptoms matters a great deal to the scientific community and our data sets. One of the council’s I’m on – Texas Alzheimer’s Research are Care Consortium (TARCC), directs funds and is adopting similar standards for their large database of material. However, these tests – the biomarkers of Alzheimer’s — are not readily available for most patients, and though an important distinction, the result of the test tells us very little from a treatment perspective.
