Interests

I am someone who believes in trying to improve myself daily. I enjoy learning new things, and I often put myself in positions where I can meet new people, undertake new challenges, and observe new hobbies that may be of interest to me. Being a single mother inspired me to learn how to repair things on my own and create new things from older items. I enjoy home improvement, "diy" projects, home organization, renovating older furniture, and gardening. I also enjoy learning more about recovery and healing within my profession, which had led me to further investigate holistic health, massage/acupressure, and dietary and supplemental management. There is an awfully large world out there, and I do my best to learn more and experience what it has to offer whenever possible.

About Me

I grew up watching my mother care for individuals in our home. She worked for a company that placed these clients in homes where they would be looked at as members of the family while receiving excellent care. I am guessing that was the initial seed that was planted for me in regard to choosing a profession where I would care for people and help them live their best life. Once I had graduated and received my nursing assistant license, I did what I could to expand my knowledge of the medical field while accepting offers for employment in long term care, post-op and recovery, home care settings, and assisted living facilities. I am constantly trying to undertake more learning so that I can be of the most help under any circumstance. I benefit from knowing that I can contribute to the health and well being of my client, as well as listening to the stories that they choose to share with me so that I can understand them better. It is a very rewarding profession both mentally and emotionally, and I respect the fact that I am given the opportunity to help them achieve their daily goals.

Additional Experience

I have also had employment in management which I feel has helped me considerably when working in a team related environment or where being a leader would be necessary. Classes taken during that time have helped me immensely in my communication skills, time management, and being able to achieve my goals while staying driven and client focused. I am a very good listener, and I am able to designate a plan without making people feel overwhelmed or overworked. I am able to see the big picture, and I pride myself on being flexible when I have to be but always reliable and present at the job.
