I enjoy cooking and cleaning but my favorite hobby is exercising. It keeps me strong, healthy, and motivated. Making lifting and transferring less difficult than it would be otherwise.
The first job I ever had, was working in a nursing home as a CNA at 17 in years old in 2006. I worked with elderly long term care patients, some had dementia, others were survivors of stroke. Some had to use wheelchairs. I also worked with survivors of car accidents that were unable to do any type of self care. I learned how to take vital signs, assist with bathing, transfer clients from bed to wheelchair, use gait belts and hoyer lifts, I've also worked as a DSP caring for clients that were developmentally disabled, performing very similar duties.

I started in the caregiving field when my mom took me to work with her at nursing homes as a child, and I absolutely loved it. I also cared for my grandmother in her last days during her battle with cancer. Caring for people in need is really the only kind of work I really enjoy.
