I do believe that caregiving is more of a calling than it is a job. As a caregiver I am compassionate, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. I am good at observing and identifying changes in the patient’s condition, because it is important to stay aware of the client’s environment and any deterioration in their condition while they are under my care. I like my surroundings clean and organized. I am patient and physically capable to help my clients in lifting or making transfers. I have had CNA training and I am covid 19 vaccinated (with a boost). I have worked with clients who have dementia, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, cancer, diabetes, arthritis, hospice care support etc. I have 5 years plus in caregiving. Caregiving is a humbling job. It has taught me to respect people at there most vulnerable stages and treat everyone equally no matter what. It has taught me to be kind unconditionally and treat others the way I would love to be treated.
