Home Care vs Assisted Living

The general rule of thumb is that if 40 hours or less per week of paid home care is required, then home care becomes as expensive as moving in an assisted living facility.

The cost of home care can easily be calculated when taking in account every detail of your situation.
Here are some questions that you might want to ask yourself:

  • Where are you living?
  • How many hours of home care will you need every week and at what time of the day?
  • What type of home care will you need?
  • Do you have a condition that will require a specific skillset from your caregiver

However, these are only surface questions. The general rule of thumb is that if 40 hours or less per week of paid home care is required, then home care can become as expensive as assisted living.
