Going to Austin for the first time. I was able to meet team members from other departments as well as other RBC team members. Collaborating in person and putting a face to the “random” name in the chats was amazing.

Being able to help seniors age at home is a privilege. Not many adults have the luxury of staying where they are most comfortable, most familiar with their surroundings, and doing so safely. Many people take for granted the fact that they have somewhere they can call their home while others struggle with this basic necessity. Seniors don’t always have the financial security to just stay in their homes, or to pay for a place where they can get the necessary care. Being able to help these members access their insurance benefits and flourish is something I am very proud to be a part of.

Aside from babysitting or caring for a family member when they came home from the hospital, I don’t have much experience being a caregiver myself. However, I come from a family of healthcare workers and have worked at home health agencies and doctor’s offices for many years, so this job is right up my alley.

I am both interesting and boring at the same time (lol). I love Legos more than any adult probably should. I love to read but don’t always have time. I am absolutely OBSESSED with pandas. I like piercings and tattoos, though I don’t have too many (the cost is a bit too much). I hate mayo, sour cream, ranch, cream cheese — basically, any white condiment can go away and I’d be happy. I’m the middle child of three, a military brat (army). I was born in Puerto Rico, and my first language is Spanish. I learned English when I was 8–9 watching TV and in ESOL classes at school. I love to travel but don’t do it often (I’ve used my passport maybe four times). Autism awareness holds a very dear place in my heart.
